Hey, first off thank you for coming to check out my blog! This first post will be about me and my career goals!
My name is Michael Chite, I am 20 years old, currently studying Exercise Physiology at Adelphi University. For those of you who do not know what that major is, Exercise Physiology is essentially the study and application of exercise into people’s lives. If you ask, “Why is there a major for something you can learn online easily?”, there is more to it than just running is cardio and cardio works out your heart to make you healthier. Exercise Physiology dives deep into the WHY and the HOW the exercises give the benefits they do and the way that they do that. With this major my career goal is physical therapy/personal training. Exercise was always something very important to me, since I was young I have always played a sport ranging from baseball to soccer. In playing these sports, I figured out my true passion, which is Bodybuilding/Strength Training. Once I first joined a local gym of mine, I immediately loved the idea of transforming your body and mind through strenuous lifting. Since I started training, I have been consistently making progress for about 4 years now and I couldn’t imagine myself not lifting weights ever in my life. For me bodybuilding is more than just changing my appearance, but it is changing my life, by building more confidence (something I have always struggled with), but also building a work ethic and dedicating myself to something day in and day out which helps me in all aspects of my life.
Ok, so now that you have learned about me, I want to tell you how I plan to achieve these career goals. So first and foremost, I have a year left to complete my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology, then I plan on obtaining a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology as well. With these degree’s I plan on then working at a local gym, building up my reputation and following through real life acquaintances and social media platforms. I plan on spreading my knowledge of exercise physiology with the world, and hoping that at least one tip or bit of knowledge can benefit someone else. I will spend time researching new training protocols, and finding out the latest information through scientific studies as well. You may ask, Michael, why are you going through so much schooling just to become a personal trainer? My answer to that is, firstly, if you love your career, then as long as you are making enough money to live a happy and healthy life that is the main goal in life. Being realistic, working as a personal trainer for my entire adulthood, I doubt it would be enough income for me to support a family and myself in the future. This is why after a few years of living my passion on my own and building up my own personal knowledge and social media following, I plan on studying an extra 3 years of school to get a doctorate in physical therapy. This is my main long-term goal in my life. I would say once I accomplish that, I will feel as proud as I ever had before in my life, and I will be living a life that first and foremost helps other people, while supporting myself and family as well. All said and done, my goals in life are to work as a personal trainer successfully for at least a few years, become a physical therapist and potentially open my own practice, and then lastly, to help as many people as I humanely can teaching them how to live a healthy lifestyle with training, exercises, nutrition, injury prevention knowledge. Social media is taking over the world now a-days, and if you do not have an account, people do not know who you are. Because of this reality, my personal goal is to hit 1 million followers on instagram so that I can not only help and support tons of individuals daily with ease through internet access, but also so I can live my dream of becoming a widely recognized Physical Therapist/Bodybuilder as well.
